The Fruit, the Whole Fruit, and Nothing but the Fruit

The Fruits, the whole fruit and nothing but the fruit.jpg

Imagine that you are in a court of law, you are on trial for your life, and the testimony given for or against you will determine your guilt or innocence. You are being charged with having the Fruits of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23. These fruits include love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Would there be enough evidence to convict you? Jesus says in John 15:4-5 that He is the Vine and we are the branches, and the only way to produce fruit is to remain in Him. Would you be found guilty of producing His fruit in your life? Let’s examine what it looks like to live out each of these fruits in our own lives and whether or not we can say, “Yes, I am guilty as charged.”
